What to look for

  • Record whether the point is white, red, green, or blue on black.
  • Check whether it changes or disappears on each primary color.
  • If it moves with a window or appears in a screenshot, check the app, cable, and input.
  • Return and warranty options should be checked before a DIY fix experiment.

Use this order

  1. Run the black test.
  2. Change manually through red, green, and blue.
  3. Run the display’s built-in test.
  4. Mark and photograph the point if it remains.
