What to look for

  • Black makes a bright white, red, green, or blue point easy to see.
  • Red, green, and blue reveal whether one color component of the pixel is affected.
  • A dot that appears in a screenshot viewed elsewhere is more likely caused by an app or software.
  • A fuzzy, irregular mark may be dust or debris rather than one pixel.

Use this order

  1. Run black at comfortable brightness.
  2. Change manually through red, green, and blue.
