What to look for

  • Check black, white, red, green, blue, and mid-gray at comfortable brightness.
  • Inspect normal content too; a problem that is obvious on solid test colors may be hard to notice during normal use.
  • Confirm suspect points with the monitor’s built-in test.
  • Keep photos, receipt, serial or model number, dot count, and location together.

Use this order

  1. Inspect for physical damage before setup.

  3. View gray for obvious patches or edge bleed at normal brightness.
  4. Test each intended input and refresh rate.
